It's the 10th day of Advent, and I am well into the book. I'm finding it somewhat surrealistic in its descriptions of genocide, almost like a fictional movie script. To take in the reality of the atrocities is emotionally exhausting and I find myself backing away.

One question I ponder is:

To what extent am I complicit in the social sin of genocide (defined on page three) by the "Four Horsemen of apathy, indifference, ignorance, and political inertia" described by the authors?

Other suggested questions for us to consider:

What is significant to you in the informative narrative about the political and economic aspects of the Darfur crisis?

What signs of hope do you note in the book?

It is after advent and Jesus has arrived into the world.

Punish the perpetrators, promote the peace processes and protect people when they are annihilated! Is it possible to build a human rights set of international laws that all countries abide? We see the mistakes of the past in Chad and Congo. Can we increase the diplomacy that will be necessary to build this human rights coalistion.

Is there hope? Positively, Absolutely! The young members of the Generation x and y that are taking up these missions in increasing numbers.
